About Drake Law School
One of the 25 oldest law schools in the nation, Drake Law School was founded in Des Moines by Iowa Supreme Court justices George Wright and Chester Cole, who aimed to teach law in proximity to the courts so students could witness the law in action.
For more than 150 years, Drake Law School has focused on real and practical experience. Our students gain a solid foundation in legal theory, but they also roll up their sleeves and go to work. We are proud to put the law in action—which is exemplified by our outstanding alumni, faculty, and students.
